David Akinpelu, MD graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1994. After his internship at San Fernando Hospital, Trinidad, West Indies, he came to the US, where he engaged in clinical research and clinical trials, phases II – IV, at Georgetown University and VRG Staticon International. He subsequently completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 2002 at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Cornell University, New York.

Dr. Akinpelu now practices Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He is an attending Emergency Physician at Raleigh General Hospital in West Virginia and Civista Medical Center in Maryland. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and board certified in Internal Medicine.

SpinaTherapeutics™, a certified IDD treatment center, was founded as a result of his growing interest in the area of spinal rehab medicine which he frequently treats in both primary care and his practice of Emergency Medicine. He is the Medical Director of Kinpel Medical, PC and its subsidiary SpinaTherapeutics™.
